After 400 years of slavery in Egypt, Israel is finally released from captivity through a 10th and final plague; the death of the firstborn of all living things. The angel of death will pass over and spare any Israelite family who obeys the specific instructions given by Moses. These instructions have significant meaning for both the Israelites then, and also for us now.
